It's Not Just Fashion

Because Friendster is no longer cool and we refuse to tweet, we're making a tumblr. Delve into the terrible combination of Charlie and Marisa's minds that is: It's Not Just Fashion.

Looking back through pictures of accessories from Spring/Summer 2010 shows, we stumbled upon the shoes at Proenza Schouler. Their shoes are not nearly as dainty or delicate as some of the ones we posted from Paris, yet they are still flashy and fantastic. The colors and the details on the wedges remind us of an underwater paradise (Flounder from the Little Mermaid meets the runway). And the bootie has soft, intricate scales contrasted with suede and a bungee. These shoes are the perfect accessory for an all black outfit, plus they look fancy without any fuss.

permalink In the world of celebrity designers there are two different paths: the Olsen path and the Lohan path. We are glad to say that Nicole Richie (a celeb that we have been obsessed with since her first days on the Simple Life, sorry Paris but Nicole was the real reason we watched) has put out these pictures as part of her House of Harlow 1960 line. We love the thick heel, the geometric patterns, and the earth tones. Dress them up, dress them down, wear them with all black or incorporate them into a pattern-plenty outfit, Richie knows her shoes.

permalink The ultimate glass slipper has to be these Valentino shoe’s from their S/S 2010 line.  The shoes were created by London-based milliner Philip Treacy, and the precision that he normally puts into his hats is excellently displayed in the fine details of this delicious pump.  So dainty and light it’s hard to know what’s lace, what’s feather and what’s shoe.  Marisa would give herself approximately 7 minutes of wearing these in the streets before she ruined them by stepping in a grate or somehow having them chewed by a passing dog.  Despite this fact, they are like foot cotton candy that make us feel like they could make just the right foot/leg look like it was floating on air.  This is what fairytale shoe dreams are made of.
